Corporate Citizen

As a market leader, we accept the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) that comes with our position. Capital Partners believes that it is important to give back to the local, national and global communities and charitable programs. We support communities through partnerships, sponsored programs and corporate giving.
Corporate Citizenship
The primary focus of our corporate social responsibility programs encompasses children’s educational initiatives, support for the military, and the betterment of communities in terms of social issues. We are committed to advancing education, strengthening communities and improving lives.

USMC Toys for Tots Program
Capital Partner’s Carlsbad Headquarters, is just miles from the United State Marine base of Camp Pendleton. To support our troops in appreciation of the work they do for the USA, it is an annual tradition for the employees of Capital Partners to donate toys to the USMC Toys for Tot’s program.

Hope for Haiti
“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.Every year we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of our personal heroes – we hope you will remember his selflessness and altruism. Dr. King’s principles of love, hope, self-reliance, and brotherhood among nations extended to all four corners of our world.Today, the people of Haiti are in need of that brotherhood. Certainly you’ve heard about the terrible tragedy befallen the Haitian nation. Thousands buried in one of the world’s most poverty stricken countries, broken buildings by the thousands and broken souls by the millions. Our employees generously donated and Capital Partners quad-matched those donations sending in excess of $15,000 to the people of Haiti.

Mike’s Fun Run benefiting National MS Society & Hospice Family Care
This benefit hits close to home, as Mike Sanders, a dear friend of two of Capital Partners’ employee, lost his life at the young age of 26 to Multiple Sclerosis. Annually, Capital Partners contributes to the Fun Run events while our two Capital Partners employees participate. To read more about Mike and his story visit: http://www.msdesertride.com/index.php

Breast Cancer Hope
Capital Partners’ Executive Vice President walked in honor of her mother in the Susan Komen 3 Day for a Cure. If you have never experienced this event, it is a deeply emotional experience, and Capital Partners and its employees generously donated to the cause as well as cheering on our walker during her 3 day journey.

San Diego Fire Relief Effort
The Wild Fires of San Diego affected many Capital Partner employees. Several employees were evacuated and our offices were on red alert. Many of our generous employees opened up their homes to others in evacuation zones, providing shelter for families and friends. Thankfully, no employee homes or lives were taken, but many others were not so lucky. Capital Partners gathered clothing, toys, electronics, and monetary donations to those in need, while others volunteered and continue to participate in the rebuilding here in San Diego.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Victims
Capital Partners’ corporate citizenship extends beyond U.S. borders. In just two short weeks, Capital Partners employees contributed nearly $3,000 in donations to the 2011 earthquake victims in Japan. In turn, Capital Partners matched each employee’s charitable contributions and donated almost $6,000 to the American Red Cross. One hundred percent of these donations went directly to the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.“Being half Japanese myself, these people are close to me, my family, and many of our employees,” said LaDona Caluory, president of Capital Partners. “I was so pleased to see our employees open their hearts during a time of need.” Capital Partners understands the extreme importance of corporate social responsibility and the impact businesses have on their local communities, as well as the world at large.“The Japanese division of the International Red Cross was one of the first responders on scene in Japan after the earthquake and resulting tsunami,” Caluory added. “Capital Partners believes the Red Cross will place contributions where they are most needed.”

National Make A Difference Day
Capital Partners is always looking for opportunities to help in the local community. National Make a Difference Day is a day of service dedicated to helping others. Capital Partners participated in Oceanside SUN 2010, a project to beautify a portion of San Diego North County in a community of Crown Heights, which is located in Oceanside, California.“We all had a great time, and it felt really good to be able to help out,” said company volunteers. “We are proud of the work we did here and felt it was important to take time out of our Saturday to come out and help clean up this neighborhood.”In observance of National Make a Difference Day, the City of Oceanside Neighborhood Services Department gathers and assigns volunteers, as well as obtains sponsorships and donations. During the event, volunteers remove trash and debris and paint houses and fences. And according to Caluory, participating in the annual event gives immense personal satisfaction to Capital Partners employees. “In addition to National Make a Difference Day, we have participated in National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, local food drives, and many relief efforts,” Caluory said. “We are proud of the time we put into our community and helping others.”
